Today, I sensed it. There was a shift in the atmosphere, and

town was quiet. The people, the bike riders, the scooters, and the scents and sounds of summer were gone. Today, I embraced fall with a serene sunrise walk on the beach with Oliver. The gentle breeze that touched us was slightly colder than during our last beach walk. His other puppy friends were absent, leaving just us and a solitary seagull. This transition is always bittersweet for me. I am not alone in feeling this way. It feels as though another part of me is forced to let go of something I'm not quite ready to release just yet. But, as we move into the final quarter of the year, excitement fills the air with the arrival of holiday scents hitting the shelves this week!
