As we approach the new year, it’s a perfect time for reflection and setting intentions. The past years have taught us valuable lessons about relationships and self-worth. I found an image today online that listed these five essential rules. The message was basic but so forgotten in our day to day lives. As I adapted this year to a new set of rules these thoughts kept me moving forward. I'm stepping into 2026 with intention, purpose and a clearer understanding. I'm purging a lot of stuff, working on being better and of course adapting to situations faster that are out of my control. In 2025 the lesson that drove all of this home was self worth, valuing yourself, making better choices, going with my gut and of course, trusting the process.

1. Choose People Who Choose You
Surround yourself with those who genuinely want to be in your life. Relationships should be reciprocal; they should uplift you and make you feel valued. Focus on building connections with people who actively choose to be part of your journey, celebrating your victories and supporting you during tough times. Remember, your energy is precious—invest it wisely.
2. Value People Who Value You
Recognize and appreciate those who show you respect and kindness. It’s easy to take loving relationships for granted, but acknowledging the people who value you fosters deeper connections. Make a conscious effort to reciprocate that appreciation and nurture these bonds. Mutual respect is the foundation of any healthy relationship.
3. Trust the People Who Stand By You
In life, you’ll face challenges, and it’s essential to identify those who stand by you during tough times. Trust is built through consistent support and understanding. Surround yourself with individuals who have proven their loyalty and who you can confide in. These are the people who will help you navigate life’s ups and downs, providing the security we all need.
4. Remove Those Who Disrespect You
Life is too short to tolerate disrespect. If someone consistently undermines your worth or treats you poorly, it’s essential to reevaluate that relationship. Removing toxic individuals from your life can be difficult, but it’s necessary for your mental and emotional well-being. Prioritize your self-respect and surround yourself with positivity.
5. Protect Your Peace, Even If It Means Walking Away
Your peace of mind is invaluable. If a situation or relationship disrupts your tranquility, don’t hesitate to walk away. This doesn’t mean you should give up on people easily, but sometimes stepping back is the healthiest choice. Prioritize environments that foster growth, joy, and peace. You deserve to thrive without unnecessary stress.
A little self love goes a long way.
As we step into 2026, let these five rules guide your journey. Embrace relationships that uplift you, value mutual respect, and protect your peace. The new year is a canvas—paint it with positivity, love, and meaningful connections. Cheers to a fulfilling year ahead! 🌟
Here's to 2026 and more importantly YOU!
With much love,
Always Caroline, Oliver & Staff
